About Bornitron
Bornitron is an early-stage research venture built around boron nitride nanotubes — and an attempt to give the field the comprehensive, single-source resource it has never had.
The story
The Bornitron.com domain was registered in 2014, at the start of a research journey now spanning more than twelve years devoted to the structure, manufacture, and commercial application of BNNT. Those years came with a recurring feeling — that a breakthrough in commercial BNNT was always just around the corner. In hindsight, the field has moved far more slowly than almost anyone predicted.
That slowness is exactly what makes the opportunity interesting. The material's properties were never the problem. The problem has always been making it — affordably, at quality, at scale. Bornitron exists to work on that problem directly, and from a specific angle: that the answer lies in what makes BNNT fundamentally different from the carbon nanotubes whose manufacturing methods the field has mostly borrowed.
What we're building
Two things at once. First, a research venture developing novel, BNNT-native manufacturing approaches aimed at the empty high-quality/low-cost corner of the market. Second, this resource — because in surveying the entire public web we could not find a single comprehensive, neutral source for everything BNNT, and the field deserves one.

Every claim on this site is tied to a verifiable source. We would rather be accurate than exciting — though we think the accurate story is exciting enough.

We share the science freely and hold our specific methods close. Both serve the same goal: making BNNT finally matter.
The long view
Twelve years in, we are not betting on a quick win. We are betting that the manufacturing problem is solvable, and that solving it is worth doing properly.
